CFD Modeling of Thermoacoustic Energy Conversion: A Review

In this article, a comprehensive review of the computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based modeling approach for thermoacoustic energy conversion devices is proposed. Although phenomena were discovered two centuries ago, only in recent decades have such been spreading conversion. The limited understanding nonlinearities one reasons limiting their diffusion. CFD powerful tool that allows taking into consideration all nonlinear neglected by linear theory, on which standard designs are based, to develop increasingly efficient. Starting from description possible numerical models highlight difference full method, (dynamic, dynamic and acoustic) discussed physical point view. articles found literature analyzed according setup, with either single core (TAC) or device.
